More about Jamaal
A failed middle school principal and plagiarist cannot be in charge of NYC's schools
Okay, so yesterday, I gave you the first dose of dirt on Jamaal Bowman, the disgraced former congressman whom mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is reportedly considering to serve as chancellor of the NYC public school system.
If, for whatever unthinkable reason, you haven’t yet gotten around to reading it, here’s a quick recap:
As an educator:
Over his 20-year academic career, Bowman repeatedly expressed his disdain for standardized testing, referring to it as “a pillar of systemic racism” and “a form of modern‑day slavery.”
In 2014, five years after becoming the first principal at the newly opened Cornerstone Academy for Social Action, Bowman unveiled the school's "Wall of Honor," which paid tribute to the likes of three-time felon Tupac Shakur, as well as his cop-killer mother and stepfather.
The wall also features a portrait of former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, who has claimed that Zionists were behind the 9/11attacks, questioned the number of Jews killed in the Holocaust, and who personally met with Hamas and Hezbollah representatives in 2008 and 2009.
As a congressman:
July 2023: Bowman voted against a resolution declaring that “The State of Israel is not a racist or apartheid state.”
September 2023: In an attempt to scuttle a vote on a spending bill, he pulled the fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building, claiming it to be a mistake and that he thought it would open the door.
October 2023: Bowman voted —18 days after Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking another 251 hostages— against a resolution unequivocally condemning Hamas and supporting Israel's right to defend itself.
That one strikes me as pretty much a no-brainer, a lay-up, right?
Well, my man, Jamaal, along with nine other anti-Israel progressive Democrats, and that Republican dipshit from Kentucky, Thomas Massey, somehow found themselves unable to condemn the October 7 atrocities and stand in support of the clear victims.
November 2023: He shouted to a group of about 50 "pro-Palestinian” demonstrators in his district that "There’s still no evidence of beheaded babies or raped women. But they still keep using that lie [for] propaganda."
For the record, both the UN and Human Rights Watch (neither of whom have ever done Israel any favors) found plenty of evidence.
Okay, moving on now to installment #2 of the Bowman files.
