Not sure if you saw this, but some time last week, a new billboard popped up in Times Square, boldly proclaiming that “Jesus is Palestinian.”

Well, no, he isn’t and wasn’t.

And, I don’t know what’s worse. Is it that the claim is intentionally misleading, or that it’s so patently inaccurate?

It’s almost like calling a drug-smuggling, wife-beating human-trafficker who’s in the country illegally a “Maryland man.”

The Times Square display was sponsored by the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), a US-based Arab-American civil rights group whose past rhetoric has often bordered on antisemitic.

Then, on Christmas Eve, Slow Factory, a group pushing for “collective liberation” (whatever that is), and that little darling Greta Thunberg, took to social media, informing us that “Jesus was a Palestinian born under occupation.”

Only, Jesus wasn’t Palestinian. He was Judean, as was his father, Joseph and his forebear, King David.

(In fairness, I’ll grant the (Roman) occupation part.)
